In 1992 Rebecca Ridgway set out to become the first woman to kayak round Cape Horn. The expedition was demanding, both mentally and physically while also truly adventurous. Her individual qualities were tested to the extreme, but she succeeded in achieving her aim, to become, "the first lady of Cape Horn"
If you are looking for a true wilderness adventure full of exploration, discovery and exciting activities, with real learning opportunities, then Cape Adventure is for you.
Cape Adventure International offers courses for adults, families and young people from across Europe and beyond, who wish to take part in a first class range of activities which are exciting and original, all set in our unique wilderness location.
One of the most popular days offered by Cape Adventure is the Sea Kayaking Days for adults and families with children 8 years old and over. This really is the perfect place to sample sea kayaking in the sheltered waters of Loch A Chadh-Fi and Loch Laxford, with nesting sea birds and marine wildlife during the summer months. Each sea kayaking day is tailored to your experience and the weather conditions. There is no need to capsize; we aim to keep you warm and dry all day!
Caring for our environment - Cape Adventure is a partner organisation with the John Muir Trust. Come to us and take part in the John Muir Award, a scheme which encourages the discovery and conservation of wild places - all in a spirit of adventure and exploration.
Come and experience the thrill of true adventure and realise that your aims are also achievable.
